The Wayne County Tennessee Sheriff's Office on patrol.
Service 24 Hours a day 7 day a Week

Deputies generally patrol in the unincorporated areas of the County, however the Sheriff's Office has jurisdiction to act in any area of the County. Calls to the County 9-1-1 center for service within the boundaries of a city are usually routed to city police departments.

Assignment of patrol resources is based on geographic policing. This means that the Sheriff's Office has assigned deputies based on designated service zones.

While traffic safety may not represent the number one crime in the County, traffic problems pose serious livability issues within communities. Traffic complaints may be submitted on-line or by telephone.

In addition to the services of routine patrol deputies, Sheriff's Office personnel receive ongoing specialized training in many areas. This results in well-trained Special Response Teams that augment the patrol deputy efforts throughout the County.
